Behind this idea is Brahim, a local from Merzouga whose love for birds began in childhood. From a young age, he spent countless hours exploring the sand dunes, palm groves, and seasonal lakes, quietly observing birds and learning about their behavior. His passion often inspired him to wake before sunrise, when the desert comes alive and birds begin their daily activity in the peaceful morning light.
Over the years, this passion grew into genuine expertise. Brahim learned to identify desert bird species, understand their migration seasons, recognize their preferred habitats, and locate the best birdwatching sites throughout the year. Birdwatching became more than a hobby—it became a lifelong passion and a way of connecting people with the beauty of nature.
From this lifelong passion, Birding Merzouga was born.
